I purchased this book after reading the author’s dog rescue book. Arthur: The Beginning is even more intense. I had a hard time putting the book down because one adventure kept leading to another in Arthur’s crazy life. Very raw and real, but still has this author’ s sense of humor in it. For the record, I loved Arthur: The Struggle Continues as much as the first book Arthur: The Beginning, although I’m getting a little worried about Arthur’s increasing pyromania. Left me with the same feelings as when I finished reading the first one: when is the next book coming out? I need to know more about what Arthur does next! Great Read! -Chrissie Hall

This book grabbed me from page one and never let go. This is a graphic description of a dysfunctional family and a boy trying to survive his childhood. One incredible scene after the other Very hard to believe it's fiction. The author's style is very distinctive. Arthur is only about ten years old when the book ends. Hope there's more to come-Patti Manfre
